A Siddhivinayak Ganesha murti in the rare Dakshinabhimukhi — right-trunk — form, seated on a fully blossomed lotus throne. Designed for home altars, sacred shelves, and thoughtful domestic spaces. Available in 9.8″ and 13.4″.
Form & Posture
This piece presents Ganesha in a formal seated posture of regal stillness, settled upon a lotus pedestal that elevates and frames the figure. The overall form is composed and authoritative — a presence that establishes itself in a room without demanding attention. The proportions follow the classical temple-style treatment of Ganapati: broad through the shoulders, grounded, unhurried.
Ornament & Detail
Intricate jewelry extends across the crown, ears, arms, and torso. The sacred ornaments are rendered with clarity. Layered garments and a richly detailed surface bring depth to the silhouette, while the lotus throne provides an architecturally resolved base for the whole composition. The petals of the throne radiate outward in measured tiers, the upper register holding the figure with the same compositional weight as the crown at the top of the form. Together they bracket the body in a vertical line that the eye reads as both seat and ascent.
The Right-Facing Trunk
The Siddhivinayak form is distinguished by the trunk curving to the right — the Dakshinabhimukhi, or solar orientation. This is an uncommon form of Ganesha, considered especially potent in the temple tradition and associated with the Surya Nadi and the attainment of siddhi — fulfilment, accomplishment, and success in significant undertakings. The right-trunk form typically demands more precise ritual observance and is more often found in temples than in domestic settings. Bringing it into the home carries a considered spiritual weight.
In the Home
This Siddhivinayak Ganesha murti is suited to spaces where a piece of real ceremonial presence is intended — a dedicated prayer area, a home mandir, or an elevated shelf given over to sacred objects. The 9.8″ version fits desks and compact altars; the 13.4″ works as a principal centrepiece. For those who prefer Ganesha in his left-trunk form, the Ekadanta Ganesha Murti offers a complementary interpretation on a similar lotus throne. The piece pairs naturally with a small brass lamp, a clay bowl for modak, or fresh durva grass during Ganesh Chaturthi — the festival when Ganesha is most widely honoured in homes across India.
About Siddhivinayak
Siddhivinayak — “the fulfiller of wishes” — is the name given to Ganesha (also widely known as Ganpati, Vinayaka, and Vighnaharta, the remover of obstacles) in this right-trunk form. The tradition is most prominently associated with the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, one of the most visited temples in India. In this form, Ganesha is invoked for the attainment of siddhi — accomplishment and the fulfilment of major life undertakings. He is worshipped at the outset of important ventures and milestones — the opening of a new home, the signing of an agreement, the start of a journey, or the first day of an extended undertaking. The Mumbai temple, established in the eighteenth century, receives several million pilgrims a year and is among the most actively visited devotional sites in Western India. Bringing the right-trunk form into a domestic setting traditionally signals a household ready to mark significant beginnings with care.
