Hanuman: Devoted Strength

Price range: $66.00 through $108.00

A sculptural form of Hanuman in kneeling posture, hand raised in abhaya mudra. Designed for home mandirs, entryways, and protective placements. Choose between Sandstone or Black base. Available in two sizes.

A sculptural form of Hanuman — depicted kneeling in reverence, with one hand raised in blessing — designed for home mandirs, entryways, and contemporary domestic spaces. This Hanuman kneeling murti presents the deity in a moment of poised humility: one knee grounded, the other raised, the body held in attentive stillness while the lifted hand offers protection and reassurance. It is a piece that holds quiet authority — a form of devotion expressed through posture rather than display.

Form & Posture

The figure kneels in a balanced stance — one knee firmly grounded, the other raised in readiness — the torso upright and composed. The raised hand reaches forward and slightly upward in abhaya mudra, the gesture of fearlessness and reassurance. The lowered hand grounds the figure, resting close to the body. The head is lifted; the expression is calm yet resolute. The overall silhouette reads as concentrated strength held in service — the energy of a protector momentarily still — with the muscular form interpreted in clean sculptural relief rather than exaggerated definition.

Ornament & Detail

Hanuman is richly adorned — layered garlands across the chest, ornaments at the wrists and ankles, a detailed crown, and the gada (mace) carried at his side. The garments and adornments are interpreted in clean sculptural relief, each element legible without crowding the figure. The body is finished in Sandstone, a warm neutral with the presence of natural stone. The base is offered in two finishes — Sandstone for a uniform sculptural register, or Black for a stronger contrast that anchors the kneeling figure visually.

Hanuman & the Mudra

The raised hand in abhaya mudra is central to the iconography — a gesture traditionally read as “fear not”, an offering of reassurance and protection. The kneeling posture beneath it speaks to humility and devotion (bhakti); together, the two elements hold the dual character of Hanuman as both fierce protector and humble servant of the divine. The gada at his side reminds the viewer of his strength, but it is the open palm rather than the weapon that defines this composition — power held back in service of those who approach.

In the Home

This Hanuman kneeling murti is at home on a puja shelf, home mandir, console, or entryway — particularly suited to protective placements at the threshold of a home, a study, or a meditation space. The kneeling posture allows it to anchor a corner without overwhelming a small altar, and its compact footprint makes it easy to live with. It pairs naturally with a small brass lamp, a stick of sandalwood, or a single fresh flower placed at its base on Tuesdays and Saturdays — days traditionally associated with Hanuman.

A companion form is available as a seated Hanuman murti for a different devotional register.

About Hanuman

Hanuman — also known as Anjaneya (son of Anjana), Maruti (son of the wind), Bajrangbali, and Pavanputra — is one of the most widely revered deities in the Hindu tradition — devotee of Rama, embodiment of bhakti, and a figure whose strength is inseparable from his devotion. He is invoked for courage, protection, focus, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. He is honoured particularly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, during Hanuman Jayanti, and at moments of difficulty or transition. The kneeling form emphasises the side of Hanuman most often loved in the home — not the conqueror of demons, but the still and listening servant.
